Chile is best enjoyed when the journey itself becomes part of the experience. From Santiago, you can connect with beaches, valleys, hot springs, lakes, volcanoes, and Patagonia, building routes at your own pace and stopping wherever the scenery calls for it.
Santiago has a huge advantage: in just a few hours you can go from the city to the mountains, the sea, a wine valley, or a town with history. For West, this type of content is key because it directly connects with the need to rent a vehicle for a few days.
Chile isn’t just meant to be sipped from a glass: it’s also meant to be explored. The wine valleys let you blend scenery, history, cuisine, and sensory experiences just a few hours from Santiago.

Terms and conditions

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR VEHICLE RENTAL

This document constitutes the complete legal basis of the rental agreement between the Provider (hereinafter, the Company) and the Renter or Driver. The agreement includes the Main Contract, the Vehicle Handover/Return Report, Accident Instructions, and these General Terms and Conditions. This contract and its appendices are executed using Digital Signature devices, which have full legal validity and are binding, equivalent to a handwritten signature for all legal purposes.

RENTER REQUIREMENTS AND REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION
  1. Minimum Age: Every driver, whether the main driver or an additional driver, must be at least 22 years old at the time the contract is opened.
  2. Documentation for Chilean Citizens: A valid Chilean National Identity Card and a physical driver’s license are mandatory, both valid throughout the entire rental period.
  3. Documentation for Foreign Citizens (Tourists): They must present a passport or equivalent national identification document, a valid driver’s license from their country of origin (or an international driver’s license), and proof of entry into the country issued by the International Police (PDI).
  4. Resident Foreigners: Foreigners residing in Chile, whether temporarily or permanently, who hold a Chilean identity card are legally required to obtain and present a valid Chilean driver’s license.
  5. Accuracy of Information: The Company delivers the vehicle on the assumption that the information provided is authentic and valid, including identity, address, and driving eligibility. The Company reserves the right to take legal action in the event of any inaccuracy or false statement.
RENTAL SECURITY DEPOSIT CONDITIONS (VOUCHER)
  1. Mandatory Credit Card: Every rental requires a security deposit, which must be secured using a physical bank-issued credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Diners Club, or American Express).
  2. Restrictions on Security Deposit Methods: Virtual, digital, and prepaid cards, as well as cash, checks, and bank transfers, are strictly excluded and will not be accepted as security deposits.
  3. Cardholder Requirement: The holder of the credit card used for the security deposit must be the same person named on the reservation and rental contract and must be physically present at the time of signing.
  4. Security Deposit Amounts: The minimum available credit amount to be held starts at CLP $450,000. This base amount may increase depending on the vehicle category, the number of rental days, and whether an international permit is requested to cross into Argentina. In the latter case, the security deposit may reach CLP $2,000,000, regardless of vehicle category.
  5. Security Deposit Validity: The hold remains valid for a maximum of 20 days. For rentals longer than this period, a new rental agreement and a new security deposit period will be created every 20 days, and the amount held on the credit card will be renewed.
  6. Authorization for Subsequent Charges: The Renter expressly and irrevocably authorizes the Company to retain and use the security deposit to cover unpaid rental charges, expenses, additional days, damage not covered by insurance, fines, and tolls, including after the contract ends. If the available credit is insufficient, the Company may place new holds on the same card.
  7. Release of Deposit: The security deposit will be released within a maximum of 5 business days after the vehicle is returned in satisfactory condition. However, bank processing times may take up to 15 business days. This period includes vehicle cleaning and an inspection by our Operations team to rule out any damage to the vehicle.
RATES, INCLUSIONS AND EXCLUSIONS
  1. Time Calculation: The rental includes unlimited mileage and is calculated in strict 24-hour periods from the start of the contract.
  2. Grace Period: A 2-hour grace period is provided at no charge for returning the vehicle. Exceeding this period will automatically result in the charge of one additional full rental day.
  3. Authority Restrictions (Force Majeure): If a competent authority, such as the Ministry of Transport or regional authorities, imposes a driving prohibition or restriction on the rented vehicle (for example, license-plate-based driving restrictions), the Company will not be responsible for unused rental days or required to replace the vehicle. Any additional expenses resulting from such a restriction, including transportation or parking, will be borne exclusively by the Renter.
  4. Use of Toll Roads and TAG: Rates do not include tolls or highway use. The vehicle has a GPS device that records the toll points used. Charges will correspond to actual use, and an administrative surcharge of 12% may also apply.
  5. One-Way and Drop-Off: An additional charge will apply when the vehicle is returned in a city or location different from the pickup location. The amount will depend on the geographic distance and may vary within Chile.

  • P.A.I. (Personal Accident Insurance): CLP $2,000 + VAT per day. Covers up to UF 5,200 for accidental death or disability and up to UF 200 for medical expenses. It operates in excess of compulsory insurance (SOAP) and health coverage, including Isapre/Fonasa.
FUEL AND CLEANING POLICY
  1. Fuel: Vehicles are delivered with the amount of fuel stated in the Vehicle Handover/Return Report and must be returned with the same level. 2. Cleaning: The Driver must return the vehicle in the same hygiene condition in which it was received. If returned with excessive dirt or strong odors, such as cigarette smoke, mud, animal hair, or spills, a cleaning surcharge will apply according to the following levels:

  4. Personal Belongings: The Company is not responsible for the loss or misplacement of personal belongings or property left in the vehicle after it has been returned. Responsibility rests entirely with the rental agreement holder.
  5. Extra Equipment: Services such as child seats, navigation systems, or snow chains are subject to availability and carry an associated charge. Their installation is entirely the customer’s responsibility.
  6. After-Hours Delivery: At selected branches, rentals outside regular opening hours are subject to an additional availability fee, starting at CLP $75,000 + VAT or USD $80 + VAT.
  7. Home Delivery: The service for delivery to or collection from a home or hotel has an additional charge. Available service hours are Monday through Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS, FINES AND SUBSEQUENT CHARGES
  1. Driver Responsibility: The Renter agrees to strictly comply with traffic laws and assumes full legal and financial responsibility for fines, registered TAG toll charges, or penalties incurred during the rental period.
  2. Delayed Charges (Fines): Any traffic fine attributable to the Driver will be charged to the credit card held as security and may be charged up to 120 days after the rental agreement ends. In addition to the fine, a processing fee will apply.
  3. Hidden Damage: The Driver irrevocably authorizes delayed charges to their card for structural damage or damage to third parties. These charges may be made up to 2 years, or 1 year where legally applicable, after the vehicle is returned.
  4. Debt Collection: Debts may be pursued through extrajudicial or judicial means, with collection costs borne by the debtor. In compliance with Chilean Law No. 19,628, the Renter authorizes the Company to report overdue payments or breaches to personal-data banks or commercial credit bureaus, including DICOM.
ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND ACCIDENT PROCEDURE

Roadside Assistance provides support in the event of incidents or accidents and includes on-site repair, such as battery charging or tire replacement, or towing service if repair is not feasible. Vehicle replacement at no cost applies only to mechanical failures not attributable to the Renter’s negligence. If the vehicle becomes inoperative due to negligent driving, the contract will end immediately, with no right to a replacement vehicle.

Mandatory Procedure in the Event of an Accident:

  1. Reporting Period: Contact the Company within a maximum of 10 hours to report the incident and receive instructions. Outside business hours, contact the Roadside Assistance numbers indicated in the contract.
  2. Involving Injured Parties or Third Parties: You must immediately report to Carabineros to file a report and urgently notify the Claims Department.
  3. Prohibitions: Do not make payments, financial agreements, or repairs on your own initiative, and do not leave the scene. These actions invalidate insurance coverage, and the Renter will assume all costs.
  4. Required Documentation: You must present the Carabineros report and/or a simple sworn statement, and request and record the information of the third parties involved, including Chilean ID number (RUT), license plate, insurance, and other relevant details. Failure to comply will result in full charges for damage to the vehicle and third parties.
  5. Vehicle Recovery: The cost of recovering the vehicle following an accident is not covered by insurance.
PROHIBITIONS AND USE RESTRICTIONS

  2. Illegal Driving: Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, while intoxicated, without the required licenses, or refusing alcohol testing.
  3. Unauthorized Roads: Rental vehicles may only be driven on paved roads. Driving on unpaved roads, such as the Carretera Austral, is permitted only with four-wheel-drive (4×4) vehicles.
  4. Unauthorized Third Parties: Allowing the vehicle to be driven by any person not authorized in the contract, even occasionally.
  5. Modifications: Towing trailers without consent, carrying out unauthorized repairs, or tampering with or removing the TAG device.
TRAVEL OUTSIDE THE COUNTRY (ARGENTINA PERMIT)
  1. Conditions: Border crossing is available only for rentals with a minimum duration of 5 days, with no exceptions. It must be requested at least 10 days in advance.
  2. Operational Procedure: The rental agreement will be extended by an additional 7 days in the event of potential damage or accidents in international territory, to avoid issues with returning the fleet within the contractual time limits.
  3. Permit Costs (Additional to the Rental Rate):
    • From 1 to 15 days: CLP $150,000 + VAT.
    • From 16 to 30 days: CLP $200,000 + VAT.
PREPAID RESERVATIONS AND CANCELLATION POLICY
  1. Immediate Charge: When booking a prepaid rate, the full amount is charged immediately. The driver’s details and payment method cannot be changed.
  2. Refunds: A 90% refund will apply if cancellation is communicated at least 76 hours before the scheduled pickup date and time. This refund does not include the fee charged by the payment method used.
  3. No Right to Refund: No refund will be provided for reservations cancelled with less than 76 hours’ notice, in cases of no-show, unused days, or if the customer does not meet the minimum rental requirements at the counter, such as insufficient available credit or an expired driver’s license.
